Our Fundraising Aims
It is important that we continually develop our service, staff and facilities to provide the best possible care and support for our members. We have a number of fundraising projects in 2016, the aim is to keep developing these areas below.
The Trove meets our vision for members, it is an open flexible space with an on-suite bathroom. As the name suggests, this room will contain treasure, interactive, musical and stimulating activities to reach our members whatever their individual needs and ability. The most exciting is the OMI-Vista interactive projection. This is a system that creates dynamic images on the floor which respond to any movement over the surface.
Because of their severe disability our members need specialist bathroom facilities, with plenty of space, tracking and hoisting and a changing beds. We cannot deliver our service without these facilities. We would like to convert a store room located next to the Den into a bathroom. This will alleviate the problems and maximise the time our members taking part in their activities.
Spectrum Days have been supported by local landscapers Pools and Gardens, to create a scenic and tranquil garden with interactive equipment which is easily accessible. Thanks to this support we have been able to put a guinea pig hutch in the garden, so our members can meet our fury friends, however, there are areas we still need to improve.
The Entrance door
The current entrance door is only accessible for entrants by being opened from the inside. The new door will be key-coded for members, member’s family’s and staff. A new entrance door is important in presenting Spectrum Days as the centre it is, a safe, accessible and enjoyable place for our members.
Sports and Play equipment
We aim to invest in new sports and play equipment to expand our range of activities available to members. We are looking into adaptive equipment for trampolining, boccia and ten pin bowling.
